English: Angel Stadium of Anaheim, home of the...

With baseball season beginning, tension between fans of the Angels and Dodgers are again in the news. Huntington Beach is cleaning up once again after a fight broke out early Sunday morning leaving three US Marines and one woman injured.

The fight allegedly began as a dispute between Dodger and Angel fans, police said Monday. Six people were initially arrested in connection with the brawl that broke out near Main Street and Walnut Ave in Huntington Beach.

Police responding to the incident found a large fight involving multiple people. The injured Marines came to the aid of a Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim fan being attacked by two Dodger fans about 1:45 a.m. Sunday. Huntington Beach police Lt. Mitch O'Brien said a woman wearing an Angels jersey was accosted by two other women, who were Dodger fans, and a fight broke out. That is when the Marines intervened. One of the Marines was stabbed in the face with a broken bottle in front of officers, and another was found about half-block away bleeding.

Two of three Marines hurt in the fight remain hospitalized. A third marine was treated for his injuries and later released.

Four were later released pending further investigation, two were booked. The two people booked into the Huntington Beach jail were identified Monday as Manuel Alexis Alvarez, 23, of Downey, and Victoria Robledo, 20, of Norwalk. Both suspects were arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and have been released on $50,000 bond.
